Lenovo is known as a manufacturer of computer, trying its luck in the television business. Lenovo has just introduced a smart TV 55 inch with Lenovo name K91, which will use the Android operating system 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. K91 was introduced by Lenovo in the International Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in Las Vegas, 10 to January 13, 2012. K91 will be a TV first to adopt the Android operating system.

This TV will use the interface UI Ice Cream Sandwiches are able to handle the feature video on demand, Internet applications and regular TV programs. As for specifics, K91 IPS screen has 1080 pixels, dual-core Snapdragon processor 1.5 GHz, 1 GB RAM, and is also equipped with a 5 MP camera that will support the technology of facial recognition and motion sensors.

A Lenovo claim, which makes other than another K91, is the voice control feature that enables TV is ruled by the voice. Reportedly, the K91 will first be marketed in China by the end of first quarter of 2012, after which it will be marketed globally.

At CES, Lenovo is also introducing several new products, namely tablets IdeaTab S2 whose designs are similar to Asus Prime Transformer is equipped with a hardware keyboard dock. Apple is rumored to have broken more than two patents owned by a touch-screen design company in Taiwan, Elan Microelectronics. Above case, the company founded by Steve Jobs has to pay 5 million dollars. In a statement to Reuters quoted Tech Eye mentioned, this problem started in 2009 when Elan Microelectronics in the United States sued Apple for violating its patent rights. However, even behind Apple sued Elan Microelectronics.

Apple’s lawsuit even received support from the Commission on International Trade (International Trade Commission / ITC), United States in June 2011 ago and decided that Apple does not violate the U.S. trade law. Canonical, the company behind the Ubuntu Linux distribution is rumored to be holding LG Electronics to make tablets and smart phones based Ubuntu operating system. This joint project will encourage the use of open source Linux platform on mobile devices.

Ubuntu’s presence in the mobile device operating system is going to add a lively kind of platform that plays in the mobile market. Currently, there are already Android, Symbian, Meego, IOS, Blackberry OS, Windows Phone, and Meltemi who fought in the mobile device market.

Canonical founder Mark Shuttleworth as a speaker at the Ubuntu Developer Summit in Orlando November 2011 and declared the target set can be used Ubuntu on mobile phones and tablets in the next two years. As quoted from ExtremeTech, such device is not yet clear what this would be made by Canonical. Although the official blog of Linux states that this device will have an exclusive design concept Ubuntu.

However, according to sources who declined to be named said that the device to be created is a tablet that can function as a GSM phone. In addition, these devices will have a 4.5-inch landscape display and wearing Texas OMAP processors. Rumors of Google would be releasing a homemade tablet have started to unfold. Reportedly, the Internet giant is going to issue a cheap tablet that will compete with Amazon’s Kindle Fire made.

Amazon has released Kindle Fire tablets for 199 U.S. dollars and sells well in the market. This is a 7-inch tablet with Android tablet cheapest price in its class. According to reliable sources quoted by Digitimes, Google will release a tablet similar size and at a price that is cheaper than the Kindle Fire. The tablets will use Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and planned to attend in March or April 2012.

The news is in line with the statement of Executive Chairman of Google Eric Schmidt some time ago in a media mention that it will release high-quality tablet PCs within the next six months. Unfortunately, until recently the Google did not want to divulge the latest project.

Google seems to be imitating the strategy of selling smart phone Google Nexus to expand the market share of Android tablet. In fact; the plan of cheap tablets will also compete with the Apple iPad.
